Kate Elton

Kate Elton is a designer invested in exploring ways we can design a better world. Keeping curious and deeply considering the relationships between people, products and the environments in which they interact, Kate is particularly interested in designing for positive social change. She loves creating playful ways to build emotional intelligence and resilience, and fostering good mental health is something she is particularly passionate about. In 2015 Kate wrote and published a pocket-sized book called ‘The Little Book for Big Worries’.

Kate graduated with First Class Honours from a Bachelor of Design in Industrial Design from the University of Technology Sydney (UTS) in 2011. Having worked as an industrial designer for 5 years, Kate is now a strategic and social designer in the Design Innovation Research Centre at UTS. She also teaches Design Studies at UTS, whilst pursuing her own design practice. Kate has been a jury member on a number of international design awards panels including the Australian Good Design Awards and the Taiwan International Student Design Awards.
