The Landing Residences located in the picturesque Bay of Islands are set amongst a 1,000 acre property with four private Residences available for luxury accommodation.

The Landing Residences are four spectacular, luxury private retreats that can cater to small or large groups, providing privacy, total flexibility and the finest personal service. The architecturally designed Residences hold a modern, mid-Pacific aesthetic and each boasts a stunning collection of New Zealand art and artefacts. As well as the beautiful interior spaces of each Residence, there are many wonderful locations around the property where you can enjoy a meal or refreshments. Outdoor terraces, courtyards, gardens and even the jetty are options for you to dine and relax during different seasons or times of the day.

The property is steeped in history and has been developed to enhance and protect the archaeological registered sites, six private beaches, Kiwi habitat, native plants and an award-winning vineyard, the largest in Northland. The Landing stands on some of New Zealand’s most historically significant land and has been developed with the blessing and contribution of the local iwi (Maori tribes). A unique sanctuary, The Landing’s historical significance can be explored through special walking tracks and the treasured stories of the all-local teams. The beauty of the land is celebrated through the experiences on offer: from paddle-boarding to skippered big-game fishing, guided kiwi-spotting walks, wine tasting, garden-to-plate dining and more.

The best place to experience The Landing Wines is at The Landing’s own winery, which opened in 2019. Designed by Cheshire Architects, the simple, graceful building takes a cue from traditional Māori architectural forms, with a welcoming porch entrance and peaked roof. All our grapes are pressed, fermented, and barrel-aged on-site. Our tasting room cellar door opens in late 2020 and will be available for small-group visits by prior arrangement.
